One of the tactics of the enemy is to keep God’s people distracted so that they will not pray or focus on God. Today I am calling this out so that you know that the enemy of your soul is the one doing this and you must STOP and THINK where you are headed! As a person of God, one way to not lose sight of your destination is to keep your eyes on the prize; and what a prize it is!
Listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ promises those who remain faithful to Him to the end:
To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)
Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of Life. (Revelation 2:7))
He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Revelation 2:11)
To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (Revelation 2:17)
To him who overcomes and does My will to the end, I will give authority over the nations… I will also give him the Morning Star. (Revelation 2:26-28)
He who overcomes will be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, but will acknowledge his name before My Father and His angels. (Revelation 3:5)
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. (Revelation 3:10)
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. (Revelation 3:11)
Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the Temple of My God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the Name of My God and the name of the City of My God, the New Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My God. I will also write on him My new Name. (Revelation 3:12)
To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on My Throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His Throne. (Revelation 3:21)
These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open. (Revelation 3:7)
Wow! What wonderful promises from our God!
Can you even imagine these glorious things?
If we are faithful overcomers for the sake of Jesus Christ, we will be dressed in white, we will be given the crown of life, we will be a pillar in the Temple of God, we will sit on God’s Throne and we will rule over the nations!
That is simply amazing!
How many believers really understand how glorious these things are?!
If believers in Jesus Christ understood these things, they would REALLY live spotless lives!
They would AVOID every sin and focus their attention firmly on their King day and night!
Brothers and sisters this is EXACTLY what we must do!
We must watch ourselves every moment so we don’t sin in any way.
We must REPENT of every sin we are aware of in our lives!
Train yourself to be godly, for physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:7-8)
Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Be diligent in these matters, give yourself wholly to them. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (1 Timothy 4:11-16)
Keep yourself pure. (1 Timothy 5:22)
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. (1 Corinthians 9:24-25)
Run the race as one who will win and you WILL WIN indeed!
Fight evil and sin and darkness and BE an OVERCOMER!
I must share with you, brothers and sisters, that when I get weary in this life on earth, I remember the commandment of my Lord Jesus Christ to be an OVERCOMER and I tell you that I immediately spring into action!
Every day I imagine that the Lord Jesus Christ is checking my life for fruit. Have I borne any fruit for His Kingdom today?
I tell you that God is the Living Fire and He is the one that judges the thoughts and heart of a person!
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
God is the Judge and He warns us:
Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5)
Wow!
This passage truly emphasizes how diligent and careful we must be to obey God’s commandments and to do His holy work on this earth!
Brothers and sisters, as believers in Jesus Christ, you and I have a job to do!
Let us do it faithfully and diligently and not lose sight of the prize!
