Today I want to share a story with you about a friend who died for me.
Yes I have a friend who actually died for love of me.
This kind of love is beyond anything I have ever known.
I want to share with you so that you may know that this kind of profound love DOES exist and for that reason you and I should never despair.
I was born into a Christian family. I went to church and generally tried to do the right things in my life, but as a young Christian, I was not entirely happy in my heart. I would often be in despair and often wondered why I was born; what my purpose on earth was.
One day the inner pain was so bad that I wanted to give up, but then I had a few experiences that completely changed my life.
One day, in the depths of my despair, I was watching the sunrise and it was as if it was the most beautiful sunrise I had ever seen. That experience stayed with me… it was as if I had been given new eyes to see wondrous things I had never seen before.
Then I had another experience. One day I was eating strawberries and for some reason the strawberries seemed so beautiful to me that day… that was another experience that stayed with me which I will never forget.
Slowly, after a few such experiences I began to understand in my heart that it is truly a great blessing to be alive and that the natural world around us is indeed much more beautiful than I had ever recognized it to be.
You are probably wondering at this point: what does the sunrise and strawberries and the natural world have to do with your friend?
Well, you see, the Friend that died for me is the One Who created these things… He is the Creator of the Universe, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings full of glory and majesty and honor… and yet… instead of coming as King in costly vestments with a troop of adoring subjects, He came as a humble carpenter and was born in a stable with dumb beasts surrounding Him.
He came to show me the truth, to set me free from bondage to pain, despair and fear.
He came that I might have a life full of joy and freedom and peace… to bestow on me a robe of righteousness to wipe out the shame of sin.
And… yes He came to die for me.
My Friend and Savior Jesus Christ died an excruciating death on a tree so that I may enjoy everlasting happiness with Him in Heaven.
Today, Jesus is my best Friend. I trust Him more than anyone else. I tell Him all my troubles and all my joys.
The Lord Jesus Christ has completely transformed my life!
Even if life is painful, He is always there to comfort me with His word.
I cannot say enough about His mercy, His gentleness and His awesome goodness!
I am sharing this with you because my Friend Jesus loves you this much also.
He came to show YOU the truth, to set YOU free from bondage to pain, despair and fear.
He came that YOU might have a life full of joy and freedom and peace!
He loves you so much, He died for you!
He died for you in order to bring you into His awesome heavenly kingdom for eternity…. and that heavenly kingdom begins in your heart when you invite Him to come and to be your Savior.
His arms are open to receive you now!
He loves you so much!
If you invite Him into your heart, He will come and flood your heart with a joy and peace you have never known before.
Ask Him and He will answer you.
Cry to Him and He will heal you and help you.
Rejoice with Him and He will rejoice with you.
He is with you now, though you may not know it.
You are never alone!
He is always there, waiting for you to speak to Him!
He is the most faithful, most gentle, most kind Friend you can ever have!
Invite my Friend Jesus into your life today and you will begin to live a life of miracles no matter what is happening in your life.
May the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, bless you with His Presence this day and every day!
Peace be to you my friend.
Shalom!
